Hi, I’m Robyn!
I’m a graphic artist and illustrator based in Australia, with over 20 years of design experience. I’m also a mum to two wonderful adult children and have been married to my amazing husband for 30+ years. These days I design from my home studio, creating SVG cutting files and hand-painted watercolor designs for crafters who love bringing beautiful projects to life with their cutting machines.
How It All Started
My creative journey began in 2004 with a camera and a problem. I loved photographing our children but could never quite get into traditional scrapbooking (I think I made it halfway through one page before giving up!). When I discovered digital scrapbooking, everything clicked. Instead of just using other designers’ kits, I wanted to create my own, and I’ve been designing ever since.
What started as digital scrapbook kits in 2005 eventually evolved into something I never expected. In 2020, I expanded into SVG cutting files and discovered a whole new creative playground. Now I get to combine my love of illustration with practical designs that makers can actually use.
What I Create Now
These days, my main artistic focus is watercolor painting, which I use to create my print & cut designs for the Silhouette Design Store. There’s something magical about watching a hand-painted watercolor element come to life on someone’s handmade card or craft project. I also design layered SVG cards, rolled paper flowers (currently my best sellers!), custom sentiments, and printable backgrounds.
As a Silhouette Cameo user myself, I understand what makes a cutting file work well in real-world crafting. I test my designs, consider ease of assembly, and aim to create files that look impressive but aren’t frustratingly complicated. I want you to enjoy the process, not just the result.
My designs are available primarily at the Silhouette Design Store, with many also on Etsy, Design Bundles, and Creative Market.
Why I Design
Creative work isn’t just what I do; it’s what keeps me balanced and inspired. Working from home due to health challenges means I can’t always design as much as I’d like, but when I can, it brings me genuine joy. There’s nothing quite like seeing a blank canvas transform into something beautiful, knowing it might inspire someone else’s creativity.
I love learning new techniques and exploring different mediums. While watercolor is my current passion, I’ve also dabbled in gelli printing (and plan to do more of it), photography, illustration, and mixed media. Staying curious keeps the creative spark alive.
Let’s Connect
I share tutorials, freebies, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of my creative process on my blog. You’ll also find me on Facebook and Instagram, where I love connecting with fellow makers. If you’d like updates and a free design, join my newsletter.
Thanks for stopping by and getting to know a bit about me and my work. Happy crafting!
